Cinnabar moth larva

The vital ingredient in this picture was the cheapest and simplest bit of equipment I possess.

The camera was angled upwards to show the cinnabar moth larva, and the ragwort it is eating, against the deep blue sky. This meant the the larva was in shadow, silhouetted against the sky. To throw light onto the subject I used a reflective card.
