Betony (Stachys officinalis)
This was a carefully composed photograph which I took as a demonstration of the fact that flower photography is not easy. This took 45 minutes to do: to find a suitable specimen, find the right angle, remove extraneous intrusive grass stems, set the tripod and camera up, decide on the exposure (particularly the aperture for the optimum - not maximum - depth of field), wait for the wind to stop blowing, and fire the shutter.

These are the seeds of Cleavers (Goosegrass) at high magnification, photographed by backlight. Notice the pair of aphids on the stem.
