Water Fern (Azolla)

Azolla filiculoides is an aquatic fern that grows on the surface of still and slow-moving water. Often it completely covers the surface. In this photo we are looking vertically down onto the fern, which was growing in a pond in the grounds of the Earnley Concourse.

Location: Earnley Concourse

Camera: Olympus OM4Ti with Zuiko 50mm f3.5 macro lens. Film: Kodak Elite 200.
