Seeds of Cleavers

Previous Next

These are the seeds of Cleavers (or Goosegrass), Galium aparine, photographed by backlight to illustrate the hooked bristles that enable it to cling to animal fur (and your clothes). As the subject is so small, just a few millimeters long, I used a narrow beam of light from an optical fibre.

Location: Earnley

Camera: Olympus OM4Ti with Zuiko 38mm bellows macro lens. Film: Kodak Elite 200.

This image is one of a series taken at Earnley Concourse during "Photographing Nature at the Earnley Concourse"
